The oldest and most important architectural monument of Adazi is Baltezers church, located in Baltezers, Adazi district. The church is located in a picturesque place between Big and Small Baltezer. It was built between 1772 and 1775 by master Bernhard Joachim from Mazungen. The shape of the church – a single-volume oblong building with a polygonal altar and a frontal square tower with a baroque finish – reflects the principles of baroque architecture. The entrance of the building is accentuated by a baroque portal, volutes and oval windows decorate the zelmini. In the interior, the walls are decorated with pilasters. According to the testimony of historian and theologian Roberts Feldmanis, the Baltezer church was the first in Latvia, whose pastor at the time, Janis Baumanis, encouraged by unknown circumstances, willingly gave the keys to the church to the Soviet executive power.

During the Soviet era, the church was vandalized, its interior was destroyed, the altar and organ were destroyed, and its tower was demolished. At the beginning, the church building was used as a cultural center (dance hall, cinema), later also as a warehouse and workshop of metal artists. Only since the mid-1990s, there is no telephone switchboard in the altar premises.

In 1994, the church was given to the Adazi Evangelical Lutheran congregation. Over time, the entire facade was reconstructed, the internal walls several meters high were restored, except for the old, damaged bricks in the field, the old and damaged wooden beams were replaced and new windows were put in.
