Trail from Garkalne to Kalngale
The trail from Garkalne to Kalngale runs through pine forests and natural areas, parts of which are also located within Ādaži Municipality. The route starts at Garkalne railway station and is approximately 20 km long. It is suitable for hiking, with a moderate to challenging difficulty level.
Along the way, hikers can enjoy diverse forest landscapes and rich biodiversity. Sections of the trail pass through protected nature areas, including the Piejūra Nature Park and the Garkalne Forest Nature Reserve, where several rare bird species can be observed.
Within Ādaži Municipality, the route passes through the village of Alderu, where it is possible to take a short break at Alderu Beach on Lake Mazais Baltezers, as well as explore the story of Alderi Park and its historic plantings. Continuing towards Kalngale, visitors can also stop at the Baltezers Tree Nursery, known for its wide variety of plants and peaceful garden atmosphere. Near Kalngale, the Bird Park recreation area offers a firepit and resting facilities. In the Kalngale beach area, it is also possible to follow the Rose Dune Trail, which leads all the way to the sea.
The most convenient way to reach the starting point at Garkalne railway station is by train, using routes Riga–Sigulda, Riga–Valmiera, or Riga–Valga.
This trail is ideal for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts who wish to explore the forests and coastal landscapes of the Ādaži region.

Rose Dune in Kalngale
In Kalngale, it is possible to take a short walk along the Rose Dune trail, which leads through the coastal landscapes of the Piejūra Nature Park and takes you to the sea.
The route starts near Kalngale railway station, where trains regularly run on the Riga–Skulte line, and where a spacious parking area is also available. The route is circular and approximately 4 kilometers long, with several rest areas where visitors can leisurely enjoy the proximity of the sea and the coastal scenery.
The trail leads through foredunes and coastal forests, revealing the unique natural environment of the coastline. Near Kalngale railway station lies the parabolic Rose Dune, whose вершина and slopes are covered with wild roses. The Valley of Life is considered the end of the Rose Dune, distinguished by a different forest structure – here, deciduous trees appear among the pines.
The Rose Dune is most beautiful during the blooming period in spring and early summer, when wild roses create a particularly scenic natural view.
When visiting the route, visitors are encouraged to stay on the marked trail to protect the coastal environment. Please note that in the Piejūra Nature Park it is prohibited to light fires, set up tents, or let dogs off-leash.

The center of Riga is only 30 minutes away, while in Kalngale you can find beautiful forest trails and the sea for unforgettable cross-country riding. It strived to ensure high quality standards and provide the best care for its boarding horses. There, the well-being of the horse is the basis of a healthy and happy horse. At the same time, the comfort of the riders is also important, so the interior of the stable is equipped with all the necessary comforts for the riders. The stable is suitable for you to realize your sporting ambitions with your horse. This is provided by an indoor arena that allows training all year round, as well as riding arenas suitable for dressage and showjumping disciplines.
