Carnikava Community Centre “Ozolaine”
According to the municipal fee schedule, the “Ozolaine” Community Centre offers two halls for rent:
- Large Hall (193.6 m²): the rental fee is EUR 19.36 per hour (including VAT);
- Small Hall (31.9 m²): the rental fee is EUR 7.59 per hour (including VAT).
Art Wall “Carnikava Stories”
A new art wall has been created in Carnikava at 58D Nēģu Street, transforming a visually unappealing garage wall into a vibrant and engaging public art installation. Using Carnikava’s signature colours, black-and-white images, and colourful accents, the wall depicts symbols that are significant to Carnikava – fishermen, the market, the wooden church, the manor, local people, and the museum building.
The new Carnikava art wall continues last year’s project at 58C Nēģu Street, which told the story of modern-day Carnikava. This time, the focus is on Carnikava’s history and cultural heritage.
The art wall is located next to the promenade along the Vecgauja River, making it visible both during a walk and from the nearby car park. It adds to the Carnikava landscape, brings joy to local residents, and creates a new tourist and photographic attraction in Carnikava.
The aim of the project was to transform a visually unattractive wall into an aesthetically appealing and publicly accessible space that also tells the story of Carnikava’s history, people, and identity.
The art wall was created with financial support from the “Society with a Soul” project in 2026.
The project was created and implemented by Elīna Gusāre and Vents Strautmanis with their team.

Ādaži Municipality invites you to discover the area’s nature, cultural and historical sites, and tourism opportunities with accessibility in mind. People with mobility impairments can also enjoy walks in nature, relax by the water, and explore local tourist attractions.
To provide greater accessibility, Ādaži Municipality is developing accessible tourism infrastructure and offering specially adapted solutions for people with mobility impairments.
Hiking Wheelchair and Wheelchair Transport Bicycle
Special equipment is available for people with mobility difficulties and their companions, making it possible to enjoy nature and outdoor activities.
The Joëlette Finisher hiking wheelchair is designed for hiking on forest trails, including areas within the Piejūra Nature Park. The wheelchair has one large, movable front wheel that helps it navigate uneven trails, roots, and sand. It is designed to be used with the assistance of a companion or assistant and is not intended for independent use.
The Van Raam Velo Plus wheelchair transport bicycle provides an opportunity for wheelchair users to enjoy a cycling trip together on smoother roads. The wheelchair, together with the user, can be placed on the bicycle’s front platform, eliminating the need to transfer the person from their wheelchair. The bicycle is operated by an assistant.
Both mobility devices are available free of charge with advance reservation at the Carnikava Local History Centre.

Accessible Nature and Tourism Opportunities
Ādaži Municipality offers a variety of natural and tourism destinations, including the Gauja River estuary and surrounding area, the Carnikava promenade, coastal areas, beaches, recreational sites, and cultural and historical attractions.
Before setting out, we recommend checking the surface, terrain, and available infrastructure of the specific route. Accessibility can vary between locations, so people with mobility impairments are advised to check the latest information about the destination in advance.
Developing Accessibility in Ādaži Municipality
Ādaži Municipality continues to improve the accessibility of tourism infrastructure. Solutions are being explored to make it easier for people with functional impairments to access the water, use recreational areas, and enjoy the municipality’s natural attractions.
For example, accessibility improvements to water tourism infrastructure in Carnikava are planned, including around Laivu Street 2 and Jomas Street 7. The planned solutions aim to provide easier access to piers and safer boarding of boats.

“Green Way” Route
“Green Way” is an approximately 13.5 km cycling route that follows the protective embankment along the left bank of the Gauja River, from Ādaži to Carnikava Beach, offering peaceful natural scenery and an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities in the fresh air. The route is suitable for both nature and cycling enthusiasts and families with children, providing a relaxed way to explore the surroundings of Ādaži and Carnikava.
Approximately 85% of the route runs on gravel roads, while 15% follows a paved surface, so an off-road bicycle is recommended for a more comfortable ride.
The approximately 13.5 km one-way route can be completed in 1–1.5 hours, starting near the Kadaga Bridge and finishing at Carnikava Beach or Laivu Street.
During the journey, you can stop for a picnic at the end of Atpūtas Street in Carnikava. On weekends, extra caution is advised on the promenade, as it can be busy. The “Green Way” is a great opportunity for a short cycling trip outside the city, combining physical activity, enjoying nature, and reaching the Carnikava coastline in one route.

“Carnikava Walking Map” Route
Carnikava Walking Map invites you to take an informative walk through the village of Carnikava and discover its cultural, historical and natural heritage.
The route takes you past important landmarks and scenic spots in Carnikava, including Carnikava Manor Park, the historic railway station building, the Carnikava promenade and the mouth of the Gauja River, as well as other points of interest that tell the story of Carnikava’s past and present.
Along the way, you can also enjoy Carnikava’s unique atmosphere and stop at one of the local cafés, restaurants or bakeries to sample delicious treats and take a break.
The route is suitable for a leisurely walk and for discovering Carnikava, both for local residents and visitors. Nature and outdoor enthusiasts can extend their walk to the mouth of the Gauja River and the seaside.
Please note! From 1 May to 31 July, access to certain sections of the route is restricted due to the nesting of protected bird species. During this period, please follow the signs and use the alternative route indicated on the map.

“Liepa” Medical Centre
LIEPA Medical Centre is a modern, multidisciplinary healthcare centre in Carnikava, offering a range of medical specialists, diagnostic services and rehabilitation under one roof.
The medical centre offers consultations with family doctors, dermatologists, trauma and orthopaedic specialists, plastic surgeons, phlebologists and vascular surgeons, paediatricians, neurologists, gynaecologists and obstetricians, cardiologists, paediatric gastroenterologists and endocrinologists.
The centre also provides a range of diagnostic examinations, including ultrasound examinations, vascular ultrasound, echocardiography and Holter monitoring.
The health and wellbeing services include physiotherapy and rehabilitation, as well as dental care.
The medical centre has been designed as a bright, welcoming and easily accessible environment, including facilities suitable for families with prams and people with mobility and other functional impairments. The centre is equipped with modern medical and diagnostic equipment.
Tourist Information Centre
The Ādaži Municipality Tourist Information Centre is located in Carnikava at 16 Rīgas Street. It is an ideal starting point for discovering the natural, cultural and leisure opportunities of Ādaži Municipality.
At the Tourist Information Centre, visitors can find information about tourist attractions, places of interest, outdoor activities, accommodation, dining options and other tourism opportunities in Ādaži Municipality. The centre’s staff can help you choose suitable routes and provide recommendations on how to enjoy your time in the municipality, whether you are travelling individually, with family or as part of a group.
The centre also provides information about various hiking, cycling and other tourist routes, as well as current events and activities taking place throughout the municipality.
Visitors can also purchase a selection of souvenirs at the Tourist Information Centre, providing a lasting memento of their visit to Ādaži Municipality. Souvenir purchases can be paid for in cash only.

“Café ‘Rūna’”
Café “Rūnu” – delicious food and a cozy atmosphere in Carnikava
Café “Rūnu” in Carnikava offers dining and venue rental options for events of up to 26 people. The menu features both delicious dishes and an excellent selection of wine, while the venue’s atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Service is provided in a friendly and attentive manner, creating a pleasant environment both for everyday visits and special occasions.
Card payments are accepted.

Co-Creation House “RADI DOT”
In the centre of Carnikava, the first co-creation house – a community centre in Ādaži Municipality – has opened its doors. It is a new meeting place for all residents of the municipality, with no social or age restrictions. A space to come together, collaborate, learn, create, and bring to life ideas that matter to local people.
The co-creation house is designed as a multifunctional community hub: it hosts creative workshops, masterclasses, lectures, discussion evenings, intergenerational meetings, as well as everyday social gatherings for families, children, youth, and seniors.
The house is also open to community initiatives – if you have an idea and wish to organize an event, workshop, or community-building activity, the Co-Creation House in Carnikava is the place to make it happen. Daily facilities include a shared sewing room with sewing machines, a free playroom for small children where parents can meet and spend time in a safe and friendly environment, and a fireplace hall for calm conversations, idea exchange, and shared time together.
The co-creation house was established by the association RADI DOT, a public benefit organization created by Carnikava residents themselves. The project emerged from a voluntary initiative with a strong desire to create a place where local people can meet in person, collaborate, and share knowledge and practices. The building at Jūras Street 4 in Carnikava is not a commercial space – it is a community-driven initiative that grows together with its visitors. The association currently manages the building under a free-of-charge agreement with Ādaži Municipality, covering all utility and maintenance costs through donations that support operations and activities.
The Co-Creation House at Jūras Street 4 is open to all residents and visitors, regardless of age, background, or experience. It is a place to meet like-minded people, get inspired, and create together in person.
Activities for groups
The Co-Creation House offers hands-on experiences especially suitable for themed groups – school students, university groups, and international visitors who wish to explore Latvia through community, sustainability, and creativity.
For school and youth groups:
• Sustainability and circular economy workshops – hands-on work with reused materials and discussions on consumption and responsible choices
• Creative workshops – art, sewing, crafts, design, music
• Community participation sessions – what a community is and how initiatives are created
• Games and idea space – teamwork games and creative ideation
For students and international groups:
• Introduction to the co-creation house model – how a community initiative becomes a functioning centre
• The “library of things” concept – a practical example of circular economy at local level
• Creative reuse workshops – hands-on experience already used in international exchange programs

• Authentic Latvian community experience
• Conversations over tea/coffee in the fireplace hall and stories about Carnikava, the sea, and local life
• Creative activity as a souvenir – a self-made item from reused materials

Important: Each visit is tailored to the specific group – its age, interests, and available time. The Co-Creation House is not a standard service provider but a space for ideas, people, and shared experiences. It can host groups of up to approximately 30 people.
Cycling Route: Carnikava Promenade to the Sea
Enjoy a calm and scenic cycling route through the Piejūra Nature Park forest, offering a relaxed way to experience nature up close. This approximately 5 km route starts at the Carnikava Local History Centre (CLC) and leads along the Carnikava Promenade to the sea, allowing you to enjoy fresh air, riverside views, and the beauty of the local landscape. On the return journey, you can stop briefly at the Vecgauja boat pier, then continue along the embankment and pedestrian bridge back to the starting point. The route is fully paved and suitable for a comfortable leisure ride.
Route:
CLC → Jomas Street → Laivu Street → Promenade → Sea → Promenade → Laivu Street → Vecgauja road bridge → Vecgauja embankment → Vecgauja pedestrian bridge → CLC
The route begins at the CLC and continues along Jomas Street to the intersection with Laivu Street. Here, turn left and follow Laivu Street straight to the Carnikava seaside promenade. From there, the route continues straight for approximately 2 km to the sea.
On the return, follow the same promenade back to Laivu Street. Turn right onto Laivu Street, cross the Vecgauja road bridge, and then turn left, continuing along the embankment to the Vecgauja pedestrian bridge. Cross the bridge, turn left, and continue straight back to the CLC.
