In this area, several rocket hangars and military-style buildings remain, along with concrete slabs featuring Soviet-era relief motifs arranged in a labyrinth-like formation, known as the &#8220;Deception Labyrinth&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Near the hangars, informational stands provide an overview of Carnikava&#8217;s military history, from the gathering of Livonian troops in 1211, as described in Henry of Livonia\u2019s Chronicle, to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the Soviet army withdrew, the site was looted; however, remnants of infrastructure can still be found, such as various door latches, as well as everyday items that were once in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IMPORTANT!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you get to the bas-relief exhibition place, to see the hangars and informational stands, you have to go ~200 m forward along Muzeja Street!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Me\u017egarciems is a place where a secret Soviet Armed Forces Air Defense base and a military town were once located.
