Me\u017egarciems is a place where a secret Soviet Armed Forces Air Defense base and a military town were once located. In this area, several rocket hangars and military-style buildings remain, along with concrete slabs featuring Soviet-era relief motifs arranged in a labyrinth-like formation, known as the “Deception Labyrinth”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Near the hangars, informational stands provide an overview of Carnikava’s military history, from the gathering of Livonian troops in 1211, as described in Henry of Livonia\u2019s Chronicle, to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the Soviet army withdrew, the site was looted; however, remnants of infrastructure can still be found, such as various door latches, as well as everyday items that were once in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
